The 401k Educate Process (for individuals)

As an individual, you want to see your 401(k) grow so you can have a healthy and long lasting retirement, but maybe you feel limited in your investment options. We can help.
401k Educate was originally started to work exclusively with organizations but we quickly learned we did not want to limit the opportunity for individuals to take more control of the health of their 401(k)s simply because their organization did not participate. The Process
The first step in taking more control of your 401(k)’s health is connecting directly with 401k Educate. Our first option is to see if we can work directly with your employer on creating workshops to help your colleagues as well. By doing this, there are some advantages gained that help throughout the process, but if we are unable to work with your employer on a larger scale, do not worry as we can still work directly with you!
In order to fully engage with 401k Educate, we will need access to what is known as the self-directed brokerage account (SDBA). This is an option made available through most 401(k) plans and if it is not already activated for you, we can aid in the steps necessary to properly add the feature to your plan.
Once the SDBA option has been added, we will work with you individually to help you understand more about your 401(k) and your different options. During this consultation, we will determine your risk tolerances and retirement goals in order to better understand the investment strategy you want to move ahead with. As a fiduciary, we have a duty to put our clients’ best interests first when making financial investments so you can be assured any recommendations we make are centered around you maximizing your retirement’s potential.
After the consultation, if you decide you would like to continue with 401k Educate as your 401(k) advisor, we will then take the necessary steps to set you up as a client.
